Rise to the challenge for 891 ABC Adelaide's Great Scone Bake-Off
Ahead of this year’s Royal Adelaide Show, 891 ABC Adelaide and The South Australian Country Women’s Association are searching for the best scone bakers in town.
Think your scones have what it takes to be crowned the best? Dust off your rolling pin, preheat your oven, and bake a batch for 891’s ultimate baking competition!
Bring your freshly baked creations down to the station this Thursday for the official taste test by SACWA State President, Rebecca Maund and her scone judging ‘apprentices’, 891 ABC Adelaide’s Spence Denny and Leigh Radford.
If our judges name your scones the winner, you will walk away with a fantastic Royal Show prize package, and the honour of being 891 ABC Adelaide’s best scone baker!
How to enter
Bake a batch of scones using your favourite recipe.
Place 3-4 scones on a disposable plate
Deliver to ABC Adelaide at 85 North East Road Collinswood
Entries will be received on Thursday 3 September, anytime between 8am – 3pm.
Prize
A Family Pass for the 2026 Royal Adelaide Show for 4 people
Plus, a Scone Devonshire Tea for your family to enjoy at SACWA Country Cafe during the Royal Adelaide Show
Scones will be judged on a range of criteria, including taste and appearance.
No need to provide toppings such as jam, cream or butter for your scones.
The winning entry will be selected by our judging panel and announced on-air on Friday 4 September on Afternoons.
