The SACWA Singers aims to encourage and promote the enjoyment of creative activities through choral work. By performing for audiences across the State, the group promotes SACWA to others and raises funds to assist with supporting the SACWA State Objectives.
To join the SACWA Singers, you must be a member of SACWA either through a branch or as an individual member (via State Office). Our merry bunch of ladies rehearse each Friday morning from 10.30am-12noon at State Office, in Mary Walker House, 30 Dequetteville Terrace, Kent Town.
For more than 30 years, the SACWA Singers have performed in some very interesting, and occasionally hazardous, places – including on the back of semi-trailers in Lock for a Nativity Play; at the Pioneer Women’s Memorial Garden near Government House on Australia Day; on a tour of Tasmania; at the Choral Festival in Ararat; on a tour of the Flinders Ranges performing at Blinman, Woomera & Port Augusta; at SACWA functions right across the State; also to the War Veterans Home & Retirement Villages in metropolitan and near country areas; and SACWA International ACWW Awareness Days.
The SACWA Singers have also participated in the massed choir for the South Australian Sesquicentenary celebrations; combined with the Metropolitan Male Choir for several concerts; and performed at SA COTA Choral Festivals in Maughan Church.
The SACWA Singers would welcome any new members with evening rehearsals being scheduled for 2021, and an exciting program of events in the planning.
